Prof. Channa Jayasumana was elected chair of the forum of MPs, who are doctors by profession, at a meeting yesterday (25).
Dr. Ramesh Pathirana and Dr. Rajitha Senaratne have been appointed patrons of the forum.
It also has Dr. Sudarshani Fernandoplle and Dr. Kavinda Jayawardena as vice chairpersons, Dr. Thilak Rajapaksa as the convener and Dr. Upul Galappatti as his deputy.
On the occasion, Dr. Pathirana was commended for his role as the health minister to restore faith in the free health service within a short period.
