Police say they have failed to trace the passenger who raised a fracas at the Katunayake airport over the visa issuance dispute just days ago.
A video of him was circulated on social media, after which the dispute came to light.
Meanwhile, public security ministry secretary Vianni Gunatilake said the agreement for the visa issuance would be taken forward.
The government has signed the pact in question with GBS Technology Services, IVS Global and VFS Worldwide Holdings.
The visa issuance system that malfunctioned will be restored in the coming week, Gunatilake has told ‘Lankadeepa.’
Meanwhile, minister Tiran Alles is due to meet the media for a briefing this morning (06) on the visa issuance matter.
