An x-ray was taken in the course of treating a tusker named Agbo, which is in critical condition with gunshot wounds, said the Wildlife Department.
It was done in the Tirappane jungle in Anuradhapura on 26 June.
Head of the department’s veterinary unit Dr. Tharaka Prasad leads the team that treats the wounded jumbo.
It was x-rayed to determine any broken bones or shrapnel in its body, said Dr. Prasad, adding the condition of the jumbo was not good.
