The Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) has demanded the president remove cultural affairs minister Vidura Wickramanayake for alleged grabbing of Tamil land in the north and the east through the Archaeology Department.
Its MP M.A. Sumanthiran told journalists at the party office at Chavakachcheri in Jaffna the minister, accompanied by the military, ordered archeology officials to take over land belonging to Tamils.
Minister Wickremanayake should either step down or be removed, he insisted.
