A Tamil politician accuses the Sinhalese, in addition to state institutions, of grabbing land belonging to his community in Vavuniya.
Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) MP Charles Nirmalanathan charged that 250 acres at Weerapuram in Settikulam, Vavuniya had been taken over by force by the Sinhalese.
He has told a meeting that this land was located within 400 acres allotted for Tamil families settled by the government in 1994.
