An organized criminal and drug trafficker, Sinharage Chaminda Silva alias ‘Kudu Anju’, has been taken into custody in France, said police spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa.
He was arrested by authorities there some days ago on a complaint by his wife over a family dispute, Interpol has informed Sri Lanka police.
The 39-year-old is wanted in the island in connection with several crimes and a red alert for his arrest had been issued by Interpol.
Police are taking steps to bring him home.
