Veteran actress Swarna Mallawarachchi will be felicitated in Brisbane, Australia on 20 August upon her completion of 50 years in Sinhala cinema.
Sri Lankan duo Chandrakanthi Wickramasinghe and Ramya Tennakoon are organizing the event with sponsorship coming from the community of Sri Lankan small entrepreneurs in Brisbane.
Prof. Jayasiri Weerawardena of Queensland University will deliver the keynote address at this felicitation.
The award-winning ‘Dadayama’ in which Swarna played one of the main characters, will be screened on the occasion, followed by a gala dinner.
