Four awards for Sri Lanka at Santa Barbara film festival

Two Sri Lankan films have won awards at the 2nd Ceylon International Film Festival at Santa Barbara in Las Vegas, USA last month.

The only film festival that features Sri Lankan films outside the island took place from 24 to 28 October.

Sanjaya Nirmal’s ‘Seeds’ won two awards – Suneth Malinga Lokuge for the best production design and Sashin Gimhan for best sound mixing.

‘The Genius of the Place’ by Afdhel Aziz won two more – grand prix and Paul Vu and Hayden Blaz for best editing.

‘Seeds’ was also nominated for the best film, best actor, best actress and best supporting actor awards.
